| who says he can cut you out a flat cover from aluminum for $20 or so. 2 - You haven't done any design work and haven't actually gotten a quote on manufacturing the part, and the $20 cost is a number that you *think* should be doable. In case 1, sure, maybe you've got a friend with a water jet who is willing to cut you out something for little more than material costs, but if it's a flat piece, it's going to fit like shit, if it even fits at all. This will be reflected by the communities lack of interest in your product. If case 2 is more representative of the situation, you're simply badly mistaken about what's involved to make a decent product.
